Genesis
Genesis is the first book of the Bible, detailing the creation of the world, the early stories of humanity, and the patriarchs like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. It sets the stage for the rest of the biblical narrative.
Exodus
Exodus tells the story of the Israelites’ escape from slavery in Egypt, led by Moses. It includes the plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, and the giving of the Ten Commandments.
Leviticus
Leviticus focuses on the laws and rituals of the Israelites. It includes detailed instructions on offerings, sacrifices, and ceremonial cleanliness, as well as ethical and moral guidelines.
Numbers
The Book of Numbers is the fourth book of the Bible. It details the experiences of the Israelites as they wander in the desert for 40 years. This book includes various censuses of the Israelite tribes, hence its name. It chronicles their journey from Mount Sinai to the plains of Moah. Along the way, it recounts stories of rebellion
Deuteronomy
Deuteronomy is a series of speeches by Moses before his death, recounting the laws given to the Israelites. It emphasizes the importance of obedience to God’s laws and the consequences of disobedience.
Joshua
Joshua narrates the conquest of Canaan by the Israelites under Joshua’s leadership after Moses’ death. It includes battles, the divisions of the land among the tribes and reminders to stay faithful to God.
Bible Prophecy
Bible Prophecy covers predictions and visions found throughout the Bible. These prophecies often relate to future events, the end of times, and the coming of the Messiah. Studying Bible Prophecy involves understanding the context, symbolism, and interpretations of these prophetic texts, and how they relate to both historical events and future expectations.
Teachers Training
This is a 26-week certification program designed to equip lay leaders for various roles in the church, such as Sunday school teachers, small group facilitators, and elders. The program provides a comprehensive Bible review overview through 26 lessons, helping students gain well-rounded Bible knowledge and prepare for Christian service.
English Composition
The English Composition Course is offered to first year students, helping them to develop strong foundational skills. It focuses on parts of speech, sentence structure, punctuation, capitalization, and paragraph construction. Students will learn to write clearly and coherently with proper grammar and punctuation that will complement their study of the scripture at HBS.
Public Speaking
Offered to fourth-year students, this course aims to improve public speaking communication skills in preparation for their senior speeches.
